Ashburton Junior School, Croydon was opened in July 1928. It was first known as 'Long Lane School', then 'The Ashburton Council School'. Originally the school was both a senior and primary school. It became a seperate Junior and Infants School in April 1950.
In September 2009 (subject to final consultation) the school will join with Ashburton Community School to become Oasis Academy Shirley Park.
